Q&A
What does the world need more of?
We need more rule breakers.
We started our company because the rules of work are broken-- and it's unfair to ask women to play by rules that are stacked against them. If the rules don't make sense, we have to start breaking them!

What inspired you to create Werk?
I was inspired by my own experience trying to manage my ambitious aspirations and my caregiving responsibilities, and the stories of all my friends and countless women like us. I was obsessing over the problem of women in leadership and it got to the point that I realized if I didn't do something about this then I wasn't fulfilling my lifelong goal of creating opportunities for others.
What’s the best piece of advice
you’ve ever received?
The best piece of advice I ever received is that "every peak casts a shadow." It's the idea that every positive trait, advantage or asset actually has a negative associated with it and vice verse. For example, my strength is moving quickly, but that can also be a weakness.

What is Werk?

Werk is a new type of job marketplace that allows ambitious job seekers to discover career-building opportunities, all with pre-negotiated types of flexibility that can be filtered based on their needs.

Werk provides the working-mom, as well as everyone else, with the opportunity to thrive in the workplace and their lives.
