Q & A

What challenges did you face as an elite athlete?
As an elite athlete, your performance is your identity. You give it your all. Everything is focused around pushing yourself physically and performing up to your standards as well as the expectations of coaches, teammates and sponsors. The pressure and expectations were one of the toughest challenges to get control of.
What does your typical day look like now, after swimming?
On a typical day I get up early (I'm an early bird!) and get a workout in. I work from home and spend time building my brand, RISE Athletes, managing a team of 15 Olympians from a variety of sports who engage in one-on-one mentoring with young athletes.
What does the world need more of?
The world needs more quiet. I appreciate times of reflection and quiet times of connection. It’s in the quiet “space” that magic happens. Realizations are experienced. Thoughts are sharpened. Mindset is created. Self Talk gets real.
