Q & A

How did it feel to skate flawlessly in the 1998 Olympics?
Skating up to the level I knew I was capable of during my Olympic free skate was a surreal and unbelievable feeling. I look back and feel proud I
was able to push through those nerves and achieve the dream I worked so hard for.
What were some difficulties you faced as a young athlete?
Figure skating is as much a mental game as a physical game. I had to overcome self doubt many times in my career. I started to realize I worked best under intense pressure. Every athlete is so different that you have to find what works for you and build on that.
What is your passion, personally & professionally?
I love my new career as a broadcaster. Live television gives me a similar adrenaline rush to competition. Personally, I have never been happier. I found the love of my life and I can’t wait to build a family with him.
What's a little-known fact about you?
I'm terrified of sharks!
